Mission: Improve the health and quality of life for children with special health care needs and their families.

Join us for an insightful webinar on Maine CDC's Oral Health Program, Maine CDC’s School Oral Health Program. This webinar provides common oral health challenges for children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN), tips for good oral hygiene, tools to help promote good oral hygiene for CYSHCN, dental care barriers, and resources for reduced dental care.

At the end of this presentation, participants will:

1. Be able to list at least three tips for good oral hygiene.

2. Be familiar with the tools necessary to help promote good oral hygiene for CYSHCN.

Kate Christiansen, RDH, IPDH, BA (She/Her)
Kate Christiansen is the Oral Health Program Manager for Maine CDC. She leads Maine’s public health functions and initiatives related to oral health, prioritizing oral health promotion, surveillance, and accessibility through innovative strategies and collaborative efforts. Kate is an Independent Practice Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistant, with over fifteen years of oral health experience. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene and a Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

Ryan Denbow, BS (He/Him)
Ryan Denbow is the Public Health Educator for Maine CDC’s Oral Health Program. Ryan has experience working for non-profit organizations throughout the state of Maine. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Studies with minors in both Biology and Natural Science from Husson University.
